A cocksure bellboy-cum-aspiring grifter takes on as a partner a pretty blonde chambermaid, and the two set off across the country in search of easy marks, but romance and rival confidence tricksters scupper their progress, in this shabbily entertaining crime comedy. Charming performances, sizzling dialogue, and some generally fun plotting just about make up for the oft rather clumsy direction and editing.
