Three years after the death of her husband, a young woman forms an unlikely romantic entanglement with a co-worker. No one can quite believe that they are together, least of all him, as she is successful, intelligent, and decidedly beautiful, whilst he’s balding, more than a little goofy, and really rather unfashionable. Never the less, there is definitely something between them. However, friends, co-workers, and their lecherous boss prove – to varying degrees – rather more resistant to their budding romance. Driven by Tautou’s typically charismatic performance, and despite some odd tonal changes, this slight but charming romantic comedy-drama more than holds the attention throughout, and often proves rather affecting.
