When his wife of 25 years asks him for a divorce after she sleeps with a work colleague, a middle-aged father of three suddenly finds himself single for the first time since high school, and takes to hanging out at a local bar, where he meets an independently wealthy womaniser, who takes him under his wing, and introduces him to a life of flash clothes, astronomical bar bills, and empty one night stands. His new carefree lifestyle, though, quickly becomes complicated when love simultaneously strikes his mentor, his son, his daughter, and his 17-year-old babysitter, in this very likable but generally only merely diverting rom-com. Undemandingly entertaining for the most part, with a few memorable comic set-pieces along the way, the film is nevertheless let down by its decidedly drawn-out, rather corny, and somewhat trite ending.
