Using remarkable archival material combined with agreeable interview footage (featuring several surviving astronauts), Sington’s absorbing documentary tells the story of NASA’s Apollo lunar missions, detailing early failures and late triumphs alike, whilst giving extra attention to the momentous Apollo 11 mission, which saw mankind’s first footstep on the moon. Generally well-crafted and fascinating throughout, the film is let down only by Sheppard’s “inspirational” score.
