A mild-mannered office worker, disillusioned with the 9-5 life, is convinced by his cheating girlfriend to see a hypnotherapist, who puts him into a relaxed, inhibitionless state. However, before he can be brought out of it, the therapist falls down dead, leaving him with even less motivation than before and a new devil-may-care attitude. Before long, he finds himself flourishing, with a new girlfriend, an unexpected promotion, and a Superman 3-inspired larceny scam. The latter of which quickly and unsurprisingly goes badly wrong, putting the status of the first two in serious doubt, in Judge’s smart, oft hilarious satirical comedy. Incisive, gently cynical writing and a number of winning performances combine to thoroughly entertaining effect.
