Death Becomes Her

Robert Zemeckis | 1992 | ★★★
Having had one man too many stolen from her by her long-time love rival, a woman conspires with her former fiancé (the harridan’s husband) to kill said waning actress. However, unaware of the fact that the woman had recently taken a magical potion that had rendered her immortal and forever young, their plan fails quite spectacularly. Never the less, with her not being the only one to have imbibed said elixir, things quickly become even more complicated, with his skills as a plastic-surgeon-turned-undertaker soon becoming much in demand. Wholehearted performances, excellent production values, and some witty plotting combine to generally entertaining effect, in Zemeckis’s blackly comic Hollywood satire.
