A family, vilified by the tabloid press after being accused of murdering a stranger, takes part in a documentary in order to put forward its side of events, in Kingsley and Sharpe’s strangely affecting dark comedy. Several understated comic performances, some subtle direction, a deliciously melancholy score, and a screenplay stuffed with insight, laughter, and downright weirdness combine to disquietingly humorous effect.
